Deck Play in Michigan

We arrived up at Josh's grandmother's chalet in northern Michigan today. We were lucky enough to fly up (instead of making the long 12 hour drive like we normally do). It was my first time flying with Andrew by myself (Josh came up here early for work), and Andrew was an absolute angel on the plane! You would not have even known there was a baby on the flight--he just sat in his seat and we read books, and then he fell asleep. I could not have asked for a better trip! I guess all our traveling when he was younger must have helped him become a savvy traveler... Once we arrived at the chalet, we went exploring outside, and Andrew loved playing on the deck. It looks like all the toys we may need here are sticks and acorns!

At the Playground

We took Andrew to a new park today, and he had an absolute blast! There was a fire truck that he played in for a while, but he spent most of his time playing in the rubber mulch on the ground... He would pick it up by the handful, put it in the fire truck, then put it all back. What a busy boy!

Play Date with Lily Catherine

We had Lily Catherine over to our house last week to play with Andrew. She has been doing really well with her new baby sister Charlotte at home, but we thought it might be good to have a special afternoon out for a "big kids" play date. We spent the afternoon "cooking", dancing, and reading lots of books--it was a very busy afternoon!

Here is a quick video of Andrew taking a few steps today. He was trying to get his "Yo Gabba Gabba" video--the only thing he will ever watch on tv... For those of you who have seen how excited he gets for the "Dance" episode, you can probably guess how motivated he was to walk!

Andrew's 1st Steps!

Last night, Andrew took his first steps! He sort of stepped around in a little circle, and then sat down. We cheered and clapped for him, but he didn't seem to really know what we were so happy about. It was too cute! We're in trouble now though, and I have a feeling we'll need roller skates to keep up with him! Hopefully we can get some of his steps on video to post within the next couple days...

A New Cousin for Andrew!

On Friday, Randy and Cate's newest arrival joined our family! Charlotte Elizabeth was born at 3:28 am on August 7th. She is absolutely adorable and looks just like her Daddy did as a baby... We brought Andrew up to the hospital to meet his new cousin, and he wasn't too sure what to think. We did manage to get a couple pictures of all the cousins together though--probably the first of many that we will take.
