Summer Family Pictures

It has been a long time since we've updated the blog, but I plan to try and catch up with old posts soon. In the meantime, here are a few of the family photos we took yesterday in downtown Franklin. My sister's friend, Aly is starting her own photography business, Wild Cotton Photography, and she did a great job at capturing some shots of our very active 3 year old! Here are the few that she sent to us already, and there will be more to come... :-)

Like Father, Like Son

We spent this week in Indiana visiting Josh's family. While we were up there, we found some old pictures of Josh that looked just like Andrew--so much so it was almost unbelievable. Here is one of them--I still need to ask Josh's mom to scan a couple of the others...

If you can't tell, this one is Josh...

Here is Andrew from a trip to the zoo this week...

Indianapolis Zoo Day

While we were spending the week in Indiana, Josh had to fly out to Hawaii for work (I know, tough huh?). So since he needed a ride to the airport, we decided to make a day trip to Indy and enjoy the Indianapolis Zoo too. We saw all kinds of animals, fed the giraffes, and also caught the dolphin show. Andrew loved it, as the Indy Zoo has a lot of animals we don't have at the Nashville Zoo. Of course, as always, his favorite was still the pink flamingos. ;-)

Planning out our route with GiGi...

Waiting to feed the giraffes... Andrew thought they should eat some popcorn.

So silly...

Feeding the giraffe with Daddy. Sadly, they did not eat popcorn, but sweet potatoes and lettuce instead.

Family Pool Day

Josh's Aunt & Uncle have a pool, so yesterday we all spent the day swimming. Normally Andrew is pretty cautious with water, but with his new puddle jumper he was quite the little fish. He also loved all the fun floats that "Dee Dee & Unca' Ron" have... :-)

He thought it was hilarious to dump water on Nana's head--she was such a good sport!

Sesame Street Live!

We went to Sesame Street Live! yesterday, and had great seats right up front. Andrew loved it, especially being so close. When we arrived, the usher told us that the characters would come down off the stage to dance with the kids. So, when Grover came down, we sent Andrew over to dance--instead of going to Grover though, Andrew tried to climb the stairs to go up on stage to dance with all the other characters... Thankfully Andrew was stopped by a very kind security man who seemed to understand Andrew's love for characters. :-) We may have a future entertainer on our hands!

With Mommy, waiting for the show to start...

The theme of the show was "Imagine"--they kept telling the audience to close their
eyes and imagine. This is how Andrew closed his eyes as he clearly didn't want to
miss a thing!

Andrew was so excited to go dance with his favorite--Abby Caddabby!

Fall Pictures

We went to a park yesterday to have our family picture taken. It was the first time we'd actually used a professional photographer to take pictures, and we're hoping that they came out great. We can't wait to see the proofs! After we finished our shoot with her, we stayed and took some more pictures on our own. Here are a few of the ones that we shot...

Pumpkin Patch 2010 (continued)

Here are some more pictures from the pumpkin patch. Due to the size/quality of the photos, I can only import five per post.

Playing in the wheat trough... No Auntie Lindsays allowed! :-)

Mommy's favorite picture...

Maybe I was a little bit of a pumpkin hoarder...

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We have an annual tradition to pick pumpkins at Gentry Farm with Randy, Cate, and the girls. We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday, and we had a beautiful fall day for our outing. We picked our own pumpkins, and then went to the Activity Zone for the kids. They all went through the hay maze, rode on the tire swings, played in the corn & wheat troughs, and also played on the playground. We had a great time, and are already looking forward to next year!

I like this pumpkin...

My cousin was so helpful navigating through all the vines at the patch.
(Cate made the outfits for all the kids--she is amazing, and they were all SO adorable!)

Counting pumpkins is fun!

Look how big I am!

Another Zoo Day

Yesterday we went to the zoo again, mostly because they have a new flamingo exhibit, and Andrew LOVES flamingos (this, of course, stands to reason because he loves the color pink). We went with my mom (who was watching the girls for the weekend), and with Josh's parents. It was a great trip because the adults outnumbered the kids by one, which we decided was the perfect ratio for a trip like this! :-)

Andrew would have never sit in the wagon by himself, but he and LC road in it a lot.

All three kids checking out the meerkats.

Such big helpers...

First Day of School (2 year old class)

A couple pictures from Andrew's first day of school today... He is in the two year old class this year--such a big boy!

Mickey & Minnie!

We weren't sure how well meeting Mickey and Minnie would go... Being 2, we figured Andrew might be a little scared of them. When we asked if he wanted to go see them though, he got very excited. He definitely didn't want to give them hugs, but he was good with a high five, and he was all smiles while he got to spend time with them. He also LOVED the parade--we had great seats and we got to see all the characters up close as they walked by. I think Andrew is definitely a Mouseketeer now!

Taking a break on the bench with Daddy. I held my Mickey and my pink flamingo almost the whole time we were at the park!

Family picture with Mickey...

Waiting patiently to see Minnie...

All smiles for Minnie--look I found your nose!

Passed out in my animal jammies with all my favorite Disney characters after a loooong day!

Animal Kingdom!

Andrew loves animals, so we decided to go to Animal Kingdom while we were down in Orlando. We rode on the Kilimanjaro Safari twice, walked the animal trails in Africa and Asia, spent some time digging in the Boneyard in Dinoland, met Mickey and Minnie, and also saw the parade. It was a hot, but really fun day, and Andrew was a total trooper (especially on no nap!).

I want to make sure we get to see everything while we're here...

This picture was for you Uncle Felix!

I love this huge sand box!

Very serious digging...
